Troy Water Rates Increase in Response to Temple's Wholesale Water Price Increase
The City of Troy's primary source of drinking water is water purchased wholesale from the City of Temple. Effective October 4th, the City of Temple raised their wholesale water rate. Since that time, the City of Troy has been absorbing the price increase, but cannot continue to do so and maintain a solvent water utility.

In response to Temple's rate change and for the first time since 2010, the City of Troy must raise our water rates to cover Temple's price increase and increases in the cost to provide water that have become more expensive since 2010.

Effective November-December water bills (the next billing period) will reflect this change and will appear on bills mailed on or around January 1, 2020.

The rate since 2010 has been $4.25 per thousand gallons.
The new rate will be $4.95 per thousand gallons.
